Our Story

Hello! My name is Eric Lofgren and I am the founder of Next Level Foods Incorporated. Located in British Columbia’s Lower Mainland, we are a family-owned business on a mission to lead consumers toward a healthier, more environmentally-friendly lifestyle that is free of harmful Ultra-Processed Foods (UPFs).

As an active, health-conscious consumer, I personally found there to be no choice in the market for a clean, plant-based protein bar. Everything seemed to contain way too many processed, highly-refined ingredients and added sweeteners, often deceptively marketed as “healthy”. There was lots of repetition but little to no real innovation.

I wanted something different.  

So, as a retired engineer with a passion for problem-solving and a love of food, I set out to create a new type of protein bar. After much trial & error, I formulated a deliciously filling, ultra-minimalist plant-based protein bar with eight or less ingredients that could be recognized as actual food. I chose pumpkin seed protein powder as a high-quality source of plant-based protein, as it is minimally-processed, easy to digest, and does not invoke an allergic reaction. At the same time, I solved the pervasive problem of added sugars and highly-processed sugar alcohols by using only organic dates, a diabetic-friendly whole food that is loaded with fibre and antioxidants.

Soon, my family, friends and I begin to enjoy my radically simple protein bars on a regular basis, so we decided it was time to share them with the world! 😊
